# Licence grant — template

This is the form of the agreement referred to in section 2 of [`LICENSE`](LICENSE).
It is not itself a licence: an unsigned copy sitting in a repository grants
nothing to anyone. A licence exists when a filled-in copy has been signed by
the copyright holder and handed to the named party.

Fill in every field. Leave nothing blank and nothing implied — the point of
this document is that a year from now, neither side has to remember what was
agreed.

That legal person, and no other, is the licensee. Section 6 of `LICENSE`
governs who else this reaches: entities the licensee controls are covered, a
parent or sister company is not, and the licence does not move with a change
of control.

**Term:** perpetual, on the terms of section 7 of `LICENSE`.

**What is granted:** the licence described in `LICENSE`, as attached and as it
stood on the date above — full use of Wellformed, including commercial use and
modification, on any number of machines the licensee operates, bounded by
section 4: the licensee may use Wellformed but may not exploit it, as code or
as a service.

**The signed licence line:** issued with this grant is one line, signed by the
copyright holder, naming the licensee and the date. It is a record of what was
agreed, readable by anyone holding the public key for this product, and it
stands whatever any software does or does not do with it. It is not itself the
licence — this agreement is.

**Anything specific to this grant** *(machine limits, named installations,
support arrangements, a fee and what it covers, agreed departures from
`LICENSE` — write them here or they are not part of the agreement; where this
section and `LICENSE` conflict, this section wins)*:
